The Minister of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA and UD), P. Narayana, instructed the officials to make arrangements for the successful conduct of the Swachha Andhra-Wachha Diwas program on April 19, 2025.
In a teleconference with the municipal commissioners on Friday (April 18, 2025), Mr. Narayana said that the program would be held on the third Saturday of each month with a different issue each month to make the State 100% clean according to the vision of the main minister.
The theme of Saturday’s program was ‘E-Check’ aimed at collecting and reusing electronic waste from houses and shops in villages and rural areas.
Mr. Narayana emphasized the need for people’s participation in curbing the threat of electronic waste material that presented significant environmental danger.
He said that special centers were being established in the municipalities to collect electronic waste and that existing RRR centers (reduce, reuse and recycle) were in the process of conversion into electronic waste collection centers. The responsibility for collecting electronic waste was assigned to women from self -help groups.
A total of 222 electronic waste collection centers were functional in the state and several companies were presented to reuse electronic waste. These centers would remain open every day.
The main secretary (MA and UD) S. Suresh Kumar and the president of the Swachha Andhra K. Pattabhiram and MD Anil Kumar Reddy Corporation were present.
