A Delhi court on Friday (April 11, 2025) sent the case of Mumbai terrorist attack accused of Tahawwur Hussain Rana to the 18 -day NIA custody.

The special judge of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Chaander Jit Singh, sent Custody to Custody at the request of NIA looking for its 20 -day custody.

Rana was taken to the court of Patiala’s house in a ride, including a prison truck, a armored swat vehicle and an ambulance, Thursday night.

The NIA said that, as part of the criminal conspiracy, defendant No. 1, David Coleman Headley, had discussed the entire operation with frog before his visit to India.

Anticipating potential challenges, Headley sent an email to Rana detailing his belongings and assets, the NIA said to the court, adding that Headley also informed Rana about the participation of the Pakistani citizens Ilyas Kashmiri and Abdur Rehman, which they are also.

The main lawyer Dayan Krishnan and special public prosecutor Narender Mann represented the NIA.

Before the process, the judge asked Rana if he had a lawyer.

After Rana said he did not have a lawyer, the judge informed him that a lawyer was being provided by Delhi’s legal service authority.

After that, lawyer Piyush Sachdeva was appointed to represent him.

Before Rana was taken to the Court of the Chamber of Patiala representatives, the Delhi Police withdrew the mediators and members of the public from the complex, citing security concerns.

Police authorities said: “No one would be allowed inside.”

Rana is accused of conspiracy with Headley and operational of the designated terrorist organizations LASHKAR-E-TAIBA (LET) and HARKAT-UL-JIHADI ISAMI (HUJI) along with other co-conspirators based in Pakistan, to carry out the three days.

On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Pakistani terrorists was upset, carrying out a coordinated attack in a railroad station, two luxury hotels and a Jewish center, after they sneak in the financial capital of India using the sea route in the Arabic sea.

Up to 166 people were killed in the assault of almost 60 hours.
