A 36 -year -old Tangedco foreman was suspended on Wednesday for allegedly threatening a weaver in the Kilpattu village near the city of Arani in Tiruvannamalai about energy cutting complaints.
The authorities said that based on the Research Report, S. Kumran, Divisional Engineer (DE), Tangedco (Polur), issued an order of suspension to K. Murugan, a foreman of the substation of Vadamathimangelam.
The initial investigation revealed that the village had witnessed frequent energy cuts not scheduled in recent weeks. Subsequently, N. Ganesan, 62, registered a complaint through an aid line without toll provided by Tangedco.
The complaint was sent to the Tangedco Executive Engineer (EE) in the area. Consequently, H. Loganathan, an assistant engineer (AE), asked his personnel Murugan and slit to assist the fault in the plaintiff’s house.
The duo went to the weaver’s house and rectified the fault. Upon returning, Murugan supposedly threatened the weaver that he should not register complaints in free or fashion numbers online, since such calls gave them unnecessary pressures to attend complaints. Instead, the weaver must register his complaint only in person.
Mr. Ganesan filmed a video of the incident that went viral on social media platforms. After the incident, Mr. Murugan was suspended. A probe is underway.
