BRS MLA T. Harish Rao said that the fiscal income of Telangana witnessed a significant recession under the current government of the Congress, as highlighted by the latest monthly report of key indicators of the Comptroller and General Auditor (CAG).
Mr. Rao said that the State’s own tax revenues (SOTR) saw an alarming fall, reducing ₹ 1.24,146,19 million rupees in fiscal year 2023-24 to ₹ 1.24.054.38 million rupees in the current fiscal year (until February).
This decrease is not precedents, coinciding only with the severe economic conditions experienced the duration of COVID-19 pandemic. He directly reflected the ineffective governance of the Government of Congress and poorly designed economic policies, he claimed.
According to the previous administration of BRS, Telangana achieved an impressive growth with an annual compound growth rate (Cag) constant 12% from 2015-16 to 2022-23 financial years. Unfortunately, this positive growth trajectory has now been interrupted due to the poorly conceived and poorly managed economic policies of the government, he said.
The former minister opposed the mismanagement of the Government of Congress and demanded a transparent explanation to the people of Telangana for the economic reverse. Telangana deserves efficient governance, responsible fiscal policies and visionary leadership, he said.
