A TDP worker was arrested Thursday for allegedly making objectable comments against YS Bharathi Reddy, wife of YSRCP’s head and former main minister of Andhra Pradesh and Jagan Mohan Reddy, police said.
A complaint was filed at the Mangalagiri Police Station, after which C Kiran Kumar, the defendant, was tracked and arrested from Ibrahimpatnam, near Vijayawada, using his mobile phone location, he said satisfied by Guntur to a pressing.
“We have registered a case under the relevant sections of Bns. Kumar used a disgusting language against former prime minister. He is a repeated criminal and will be produced before the magistrate,” said the officer.
The Andhra Pradesh government ordered the police to judge Kumar immediately, since it has a zero tolerance policy in such cases, he added.
Andhra Pradesh Prime Minister Naidu Naidu had previously warned of TDP workers who did not make offensive comments against women and children. Kumar’s action was considered a violation of this directive.
