The Telangana Government has notified the implementation of the program of scheduled castes of Telangana (Rationalization of reservations) 2025. The State has issued a notification of the Gazette with April 14, 2025 as the day designated for the categorization of scheduled castes.
Telangana has become the first state in the country to operationalize the classification of the castes scheduled after the brand judgment of the Supreme Court on August 1 of last year that defends the constitutionality of Sub classify the SC and the programming tribes and the programming tribes and the groups of tribes scheduled within the thesis communities.
The Government took into consideration the content of the verdict of the Apex Court, the empirical data, the social, economic, educational, labor and political state of the SC communities in the categorization of SC in three groups for the implementation of the reserve rule. Although these groups constituted 0.5% of the population, the government had decided to provide them with a 1% reserve in order to provide educational and employment opportunities to most of the SCS.
In total, 18 Undercasts of the total 59 who received marginal benefits have been placed under Group II with a 9%reserve, while 26 sub -hosts that were placed relatively better in terms of opportunities had been placed in group III with a 5%reserve.

Mr. Damodar Rajanarsimha said that 33 of the 59 subcostas continued in the same group in which they were placed in the past and there were only 26 subcases that constitute 3.43% of the Population SC.
The recruitment of the government’s works would be based immediately on the categorization of the SC communities and the youth of these communities were urged to take advantage of the opportunity, he said that adding the categorization would not be applicable to the vacancies already notified.
Additional improvement after census 2026
The state government had announced its resolution to improve reservations for scheduled castes depending on the OBLINE data after census 2026.
