As the Global Care Center changes to Télangana, where the Miss World 2025 contest, Miss India 2023 Nandita Gupta will be held as a beauty celebration. In an exclusive interview with The Hindu Duration of her visit to Hyderabad, she describes it as a moment of pride and transformation, with the role of Telangana as a host that marks a defining chapter in the evolutionary landscape of the pause in India.
How do you feel to represent India in Miss World 2025, especially the event is organizing here in India?
I can’t wait for all Miss World contestants to come and experience what India has to sacrifice. In our country, we not only pass the jewels. We pass love, heritage, culture and values. That is what I am most excited to represent in the Miss World Pavidio. It is not just about showing what I have learned, but also about hugging everything I will learn on this trip.
How do you feel about Telangana that organizes a global event like Miss World?
Telangana is really putting India on the global stage. I believe that Miss’s World Organization made a brilliant decision by selecting India, and with the support of the Telangana government, it is even more significant. When I heard for the first time the event would be a hero here, he reminded me of a time when the flat was such serious tasks. But now, with the organization of India for the second consecutive year, it is gaining international recognition. This event promotes tourism, strengthens the economy and shines in the center of attention of our manual looms, crafts and local weavers.
How was your leg preparation of the Miss World event?
The trip has been a transformative. Around the following month, I hope to see how I evolve while interacting with contestants around the world. I believe in learning, unlearn and learning again, and I know that this experience will shape me out.
Miss World emphasizes “beauty with a purpose.” Can you tell us more about your project? Ekta?
Beauty with a purpose It is a beautiful initiative. Julia Morley, who leads the world organization Miss, says that while beauty fades, the purpose of beauty. That really resonates with me. My project Ekta Is has been inspired by my maternal uncle, who has polio and a disability. Growing up, I saw how people were never really accepted or him. His love felt conditional, and was isolated. With EktaI don’t just want to help people like him, I want to empower them. I do not need to create a massive change at the same time. But if I can impact positively only on lives, I know my purpose is fulfilled.
There has been a growing awareness about body image and inclusion in beauty.
I think each individual is wonderfully different, just like our fingers. Some are long, other shorts, other strong, other delicate, but together, they form a functional hand. In the same way, each person has unique strengths and weaknesses. When we join with purpose and compassion, we become a more powerful society. We are not meean to fit in a single mold, they do not know to stand out.
