Thane Municipal Corporation Shuts Car Wash Centres Till June 10 To Tackle Water Shortage

Considering the shortage of worsening water, the Municipal Corporation (TMC) has ordered the immediate closure of all vehicle service centers in the city until June 10. The decision occurs as water levels in the city’s deposits with agency.

This precautionary step aims to conserve water and guarantee uninterrupted supply for the essential needs of households and municipal. The civic body has strictly banned the washing of all types of two -wheeled vehicles, three -wheeled vehicles, four -wheeled vehicles and a large duration of vehicles in this period. Any violation of this order will invite a strict punitive action, including fines against the service centers involved.

According to civic officials, the level of water in wells and wells of the acute of what has decreased significantly, which increases the Conerns on an imminent water crisis in the coming weeks. The situation is particularly an alarm since the deposits that supply water to Thanane are running out faster than expected.

TMC officials emphasized that this is a preventive measure and part of a broader strategy to manage water resources more efficiently than the maximum summer changes. “Saving water is now more important than ever. We are closely monitoring the levels of deposits, and additional restrictions can be implemented if the situation worsens,” said a senior official.

Discussions are also underway with respect to possible limitations in the use of non -essential water throughout the city. However, any additional steps will be taken only after consultations with the municipal commissioner and other interested departments. Until then, the approach is firmly maintained in reestilating activities that consume large amounts of water unnecessarily. Vehicle washing centers, which use thousands of liters daily, have been identified as an important area where conservation is possible without affecting essential services.

The TMC has appealed to residents and companies that will cooperate and contribute to water savings efforts. The authorities have reiterated that conserving water can now avoid a much greater crisis in the near future. By enforcing thesis restrictions, the administration expects to administer existing water reserves and avoid a situation in which more drastic measures may be necessary.
