A Tigre killed a seven -year -old boy near the Trinetra Ganesh temple in Ranthambore National Park, located in the Rajasthan Sawai Madhopur district on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) when he returned with his family members from the temple. His body was then recovered from the background of the forest.
The Tiger left the bushes in the Amrai area on the temple route, grabbed the boy and dragged him, disappeared in the forest to the hills.
The incident created panic among the devotees who returned after the sentences in the temple. People hurried to Ganesh Dham Police Post to inform about the attack, after which forest officials arrived at the place, evacuated the devotees and closed all the routes that lead to the temple.
The Trinetra Ganesh temple is located within the historic strong Ranthaborm. The Hindu devotees visit the temple in large quantities for giving “first invitation” to Lord Ganesha for the auspicious events that take place in their homes, seeking divine intervention for their prosperity.
The deceased child was identified as Kartik Smanman, a resident of the Gohta village in the Bundi district. Ironically, his grandfather, his photo, dressed in jeans, and a blue shirt and sitting with a Langur nearby, outside the temple just half an hour before the incident.
The forest officials launched a rescue operation and located the tiger with the child’s body inside the forest. Officials could move the tiger away with great difficulty after making considerable efforts and recovering the child’s body at night.
Later, the body was transferred to the morgue in the district hospital in Sawai Madhopur and handed over the family after the autopsy. The Minister of Agriculture, Kirodi Lal Meena, visited the hospital and with the members of the Karts family to sacrifice their condolences.
