Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) plans to operate three mini-buses between the city of Pour in the plains to JamunamaMrathur in Jawadhu Hills of Tiruvannamalai in a daily basic newspaper.

TNSTC officials said that at present, only a mini bus between the city of Tiruvannamalai and JamunamaMrathur through Polur was operating for the past seven years. He had been providing free bus trips since October 2024.

“We have sent the proposal to the state government to introduce at least mini buses in the hills for better connectivity. We also have the appropriate collector K. Tharpagaraj of the issue,” an official told an official. The Hindu. Unlike ordinary buses, which have a seat capacity of 52 seats for travelers, mini-buses and Ghat buses (those buses operated in the hills) have only 36 seats. In addition, the useful life of thesis vehicles is only seven as age, the 15 years of regular buses.

It is mainly due to the resistant terrain in the hills.

Despite these deficiencies, TNSTC officials said they had searched for mini buses since the hills have less population. “Free walks for women should extend to new mini-boys that will be introduced into the hills. It will help us save our few income earned through agricultural work,” said A. Petchiammal, a resident of a tribal village.
