Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a former doctor and former student or the prestigious Military College of Hasan Abdal de Pakistan, once used the military uniform with pride. Today, the Stands extradited to India for terrorist positions, accused and helping Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-E-Mohammed to orchestrate terrorist attacks 26/11 in Mumbai. Rana arrived in New Delhi on Thursday night, a day after an Indian team of several agencies left the United States with him on a special flight.
The Pakistani establishment can no longer deny its participation in the 26/11 attacks. Two Abdalians, Rana and David Headley, were in their role. Rana extradition now sacrifices India a rare opportunity to unravel the terrorist links sponsored by the State.
Born in Chichawatni, Punjab, Pakistan, Rana came from an influential family: her father was a director in Lahore. His two brothers pursued prominent careers: one as a psychiatrist in the Pakistan army, and the other as a journalist for Colina schedule In Canada.
According to the sources, frog radicalization was strongly influenced by its network of military schools and ideological inclinations. Cadet College Hasan Abdal, where he with David Headley, has an alumni network called “Abdalianos”, which included military and extremist officers such as Ilyyas Kashmiri, but linked to Al-Qaeda and Lashkar-Etiba.
Rana served as Captain in the medical body of the Pakistan’s army before retiring in 1997. His time in uniform probably exhibits deep anti-india feelings within Pakistan’s Ared forces.
After his marriage to a medical partner, Rana emigrated to Canada in 1997. He acquired the Canadian citizenship in 2001 and then moved to Chicago, where he ran First World Immigration Services and a halal slaughterhouse. This immigration consultancy would become a key front for David Headley’s terrorist missions in India.
Rana facilitated the recognition of Headley’s objectives such as the Taj and Chabad House hotel in Mumbai. He helped ensure visas, established a Mumbai branch of his consulting and manufactured documents to help terrorist planning. Not only logistics, Rana also financed Headley’s trips and maintained communication with the biggest IQBAL of Handler Isi.
His left with terrorist groups was extensive. Rana exchanged messages with militants such as Ilyyas Kashmiri, circulated videos of Al-Qaeda propaganda, and had close links with the main Iqbal and Sajid Mir de ISI, key players in the coordination of attacks 26/11. Through Ilyyas Cashmiri, Rana expanded its global terrorist reach and deepened its association with Al-Qaeda and Harkat-Ul-Jihad-Al-Islami (Huji).
Rana’s case stands out as a marked reminder or how military institutions and extremist ideologies of Pakistan intertwine to feed global terrorism, a network now one step closer to being completely exhibited.
