Fourully Growing Trees along the embankment of the Kukkarahalli lake that were uprooted due to the heavy rains and the storm that hit Mysuru on Wednesday night, were transplanted on Friday.

It was the initiative of the Action Committee for Environmental Conservation that is an organization Umburate of several NGOs and groups that advocate the cause of the environment and involved raising funds among its members.

The four Akash mothers trees, each of around 15 to 25 years, were transplanted in 5 feet or in their original place. The initiative has caused the appraisal of the general public and has been an impulse to the environmental cause, since it approaches after 40 trees that were shot down by turning Hyder Ali Road.

The members of the Action Committee assured that the humidity of the roots has been held through wet gun bags and a necessary irrigation and stable contact with NK Lokanath, vice chancellor of the University of Mypraved the idea if it was feasible.

Kamal Gopinath, a member of the Committee and Parashurame Gowda of Parisara Balaga, said that although the university agreed to provide labor and some equipment support, the Action Committee chose to seek crowdfunding among its member organizations and its members to comply with the JCB, Crane, Fertilizer and other requirements.

“Today, we have shown that trees transplantation is possible, profitable and not a myth, since many bureaucrats, real estate interests and wooden lobbyists would have it,” said Mr. Kamal Gopinath.
