Truck owners in Karnataka to continue indefinite strike as talks with Chief Minister fail

Despite a high -level meeting with the main minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday night, the Federation of Owners of Lorny of Karnataka and the Association of Agents (KSLOAA) refused to cancel his indefinite strike, which is Tuesday 15).

The day begged with a meeting between the Minister of Transportation, Ramalinga Reddy, and the representatives of the surprising association of truck owners on Tuesday afternoon. “I have assured that I will obtain a detailed report on the 18 RTO control positions that operate in the state and take measures within three months. However, with respect to the increase in prices and diesel, the prime minister must attribute a call,” said Mr. Reddy after the meeting.

After the inclusive meeting with Mr. Reddy, the members of the association with Prime Minister Siddaramaiah at night. The one -hour meeting included senior officials and aimed to deactivate the crisis. However, it also ended without resolution.

Cheaper diesel in karnataka than neighboring states, says CM

In a statement issued Tuesday night, the Office of the Principal Minister recognized the concerns raised by truck owners, but maintained that the increase in diesel prices was necessary. “A diesel cessation increased in ₹ 2 in this year’s state budget. However, also with this increase, diesel prices in Karnataka are still lower than those of neighboring states,” said the statement.

The prime minister also pointed out that the state government is committed to public welfare and capital infrastructure. “The Government is spending ₹ 14,000 million rupees every year to improve the road and ₹ 83000 million rupees has allocated capital expenses this year,” reads the statement.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said that the state government will review the restrictions at the entry of trucks in the peak hours of the city limits and consider other demands. Hey, he said that another meeting would soon be convened. Despite this guarantee, the truck owners remained.
