The president of the National Board of C regardal (NTB), Palle Ganga Reddy, said that the Board is preparing to introduce milk added by turmeric to serve passengers in trains and flights under the project of ‘Golden milk’.
When addressing the interested and scientific parties in the conclave of the interested parties of the turmeric here on Friday, Mr. Ganga Reddy said that an objective had been established to increase the export of turmeric to ₹ 5,000 million rupees of the ₹ 1,876 million rupees existing by 2030.
The one day’s conclave was organized by the National Institute for Research on Commercial Agriculture (NIRCA), Rajamahendravaram, under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
To the shortage of labor in the agriculture of the turmeric, Mr. Ganga Reddy said: “The NTB will collaborate with the Ministry of Rural Development to integrate the agriculture of turmeric with MGNSGS to address the problem.”
He advised the Farmers of Andhra Pradesh to adopt varieties of high turmeric seeds in curcumin to improve profits.
In India, the turmeric ‘Lakadong’ variety of Meghalaya contains up to 9.5% curcumin, and the `Rajapuri ‘variety or the Konkan region contains 5–6% curcumin content.
GI label
In his direction, the director of Nirca, Maganti Sheshu Madhav, said that Nirca’s intensive research to ensure the geographical indication label (GI) for some turmeric varieties that are grown in Andhra Pradesh.
“Paderu, Lambasingi, Ravulapalem and Dug timela’s farmers will be supported by advanced technologies, best agricultural practices and high -curve seed varieties,” said Seshu Madhav. “It is essential to integrate science, tradition and entrepreneurship to unlock the potential of the turmeric harvest,” he added.
In the conclave a strategy article entitled, “Crafting of the Turchma Sector of India for global domain” was launched. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director and Vice Chancellor, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Nueva Delhi, requested strategic policy decisions in marketing and turmeric cultivation.
Y. Venkateswara Rao, president or the Rythu Nestham Foundation, Danda Raji Reddy, vice chancellor of the Horticultural University of the State of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana, the State Horticultural University, interacted with the farmers.
