Two children feared drowning on the Godavari River near Vijjeswaram Point by Sir Arthur Cotton Barge in the Chigurulanka village under the limits of the Kovvur Police Station in the East Godavari district on Monday.
Children have been identified as Matti Prakash Kumar (15) or Nidadavolu and Gandham Harsha (18) or Rajamahendravaravam. The incident occurred while dozens of premises enjoyed Bath in the river.
In an official statement, the deputy of Rajamahendravaram D. Purandenwari has said that the search has begun by local swimmers and the personnel of the state disaster response.
The Minister of Tourism, Kandula Durgesh, ordered the police to continue the search operation until children are traced.
