Two die in lightning strikes in Raichur district

Two people, including a woman, and three cattle died in different ray incidents in the Raichur district on Friday.

They were identified as Hanumanth Yadav, 45, and the town of Marchatahal and the 50-year-old Mallamma village or Udamgal-Khanapur in Raichur Taluk.

A case has been registered at the Yaragora Police Station.

A cow and two buffalo also died in the Mattur village, in the limits of the Mudgal police station.

Two drowned

Two devotees of Devanahalli in the Rural District of Bengaluru drowned in the Tungabhadra near the village of Ele Bicali in Raichur Taluk on Thursday.

The deceased has the leg identified as Madan and Mushuraj.

The victims arrived at the village of Ele Bicali after having Darshan de Sri Raghavenendra Swamy in Mantalayam in the Kurnol district of Andhra Pradesh.

The incident occurred when they ventured in the river to swim and trapped in a swirl, the fountains said.

A case has been registered at the Yaragera Police Station.
