Two, including former Project Director of NHAI, jailed for 4 years for accepting bribe

The Special Additional Court of XIV for CBI cases, Chennai, sentenced two people on Wednesday, including the former director of the National Authority of National Roads of India (NHAI), Project Implementation Unit (PIA), Villupuram to Fourt Charles.

According to the prosecution, the CBI had registered the case against H. Bhima Simha Hindupur, then director of the Piu project, Villupuram, based on a complaint in writing. The defendant demanded a bribe of ₹ 2 Lakh of the plaintiff to grant permission to manage a restaurant in the NH in Villupuram.

Mr. Simha worked in the Diputación of his Parent Department, the Department of Roads y Bucción, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada from April 17, 2013 to October 27, 2017.

The plaintiff who had land adjacent to the road delivered the documents on the instructions of Mr. Simha to the personal assistant of the letter J. Saravanan, who was appointed by the basic contract, for the proposal for preparation for the access permit for the restaurant.

According to the complaint, the CBI put a trap and caught Simha and Saravanan with his hands in the dough while accepting the amount of bribery. The CBI presented the load sheet in the case on June 7, 2019. After trial, the additional Special Court of XIV for CBI cases kept the culprit and sentenced them to four years in prison. The court also slapped a total fine of ₹ 40,000 in the defendant.
