The Manipur Police arrested two militants of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) forbidden from two separate places in the Imphal East district and confiscated firearms and ₹ 21 Lakh in cash for their possession, said an official on Monday (April 14, 2025).
A UNLF militant involved in extortion activities was arrested in the Wangkhei area in the East district of Imphal on Sunday (April 13, 2025). A berreta gun with 15 rounds live was passed from his power. In a raid made in their hiding place, the police took a SMG carbine gun, a 9 mm gun, four magazines, a grenade of one hand, 66 live rounds of snipers and ₹ 69000 in cash, “said the official.
“Another picture of UNLF (PAMBEI) was arrested from the Khundrakpam Awang Leikai area of the East district of Imphal on Sunday (April 13, 2025),” said the official.
Police said it was involved in extortion activities in the Imphal area and its surroundings. “A sum of ₹ 21,50,000 in cash was expelled from their pollution,” they said.
