The Indian army on Friday ordered an investigation after a university professor alleged assault on troops while checking vehicles in a village in the district of Jammu and Rajouri in Kashmira, said PTI citing officers.
According to the reports, the Tok Place incident near the border town of Laam afternoon in Thorsday Night, and the victim, Liaqat Ali, suffered head injuries. An alleged video of the incident has also become viral online. The clip shows the bleeding teacher.
According to an official statement by the Indian army, it was revealed in the initial investigation that a fight between the two exploded after the professor tried to snatch weapons from the service soldiers.
“An incident came to light in which certain people were allegedly mistreated by the army staff in the Rajouri district. The army had a contribution to the probable movement of terrorists in a vehicle in this sensitive area. Declaration.
“The preliminary information suggests that when arrested, the individual tried to snatch weapons from the service soldiers, with whom he got into a fight. However, an investigation has begun.
He said the army remains firm by defending the highest standards of professionalism and discipline in the behavior of anti -terrorist operations.
“All sections of society are requested to continue cooperating and collaborate with the Indian army to obtain collective and integral security in this sensitive area,” the statement said.
The alleged incident took place when Ali and some of his relatives, including his cousins brothers who served in the army and ITBP, returned to Kalakote after they attended the ceremony prior to the wedding of one of their relatives.
The authorities said that a FIR by virtue of sections 126 (2) that deal with the crime or an illicit restaurant and 115 (2), voluntarily injured, of the State Station Station Bharatiya Nyaya (BNS) at the NOWSHERA POLU INVAINTIGATION STATION.
The former prime minister and president of the PDP, Mehbooba Mufti, condemned the incident and said that “such individuals tarnish the reputation of an institution respected through their unacceptable and high -hand behavior.”
