The Unified Payment Interface Services (UPI) have been affected with multiple transaction failure reports throughout the country.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which manages UPI’s operations, recognized the interruption and said he was working to solve the problem, hours after several users marked the problem.

“NPCI currently faces intermittent technical problems, which leads to a partial decrease in the UPI transaction. We are working to solve the problem and keep it updated. We regret the unconsciousness caused,” said the NPCI in an X post.

The interruption of Saturday (April 12, 2025) is the second appearance of this type this month. On April 2, the users of the UPI payments of some banks had also experienced some latency for a period of letter. This was a day after April 1 when banks experience some procedure problems due to the closure of the financial year. The services were restored in both cases.

The interruption monitoring website detector showed that users begin to experience problems with the payment interface around 11:50 am on Saturday (April 12, 2025). The number of complaints reached its maximum point around 1 PM with more than 2,300 people who reported their experience. According to the website, 81% of users complained about payments related to payments, 17% of fund transfers and 2% purchases.

Several users faced even small quantities, since UPI transactions failed. Some users reported that they received the error message “the recipient’s bank network is inactive. You cannot pay the bank of your recipient. Try to pay a different bank account”.
