What is cyberbullying?

The cyberbullying is the use of digital devices such as mobile phones, computers or internet to harass, threaten or humiliate some. It occurs through messages, social networks or the exchange of private content without consent. The intention is to cause emotional anguish and, in some cases, it can also involve illegal Beviour.

UP is the first state in the country to have a dedicated cyber unit for women and children, equipped to handle such sensitive problems, said Padmaja Chauhan, additional director, WCSO, to The Times of India.

He added that the unit also guarantees the monitoring of the victims to verify if the complaint has been addressed to their satisfaction. The WCSO is expanding awareness campaigns, collaborating with private cybernetic experts and working with social media platforms to accelerate content demolition.

59,771 cases resolved through the multiple level system

Chauhan explained a multi -level resolution mechanism developed by the WCSO:

Upon receiving a complaint, the team verifies the defendant’s identity using data from social media platforms. The defendant is then called a warning or effective messages of messages to deter the majority of criminals for the first time.

59,771 cases were resolved at this stage.

If the harassment continues, the defendant is contacted by directors.

Persistent criminals refer to the cell of friends, family and family, where nearby contacts on possible legal consequences are reported.

“This advice of results in significant behavior changes. Around 5,166 cases were resolved only at this stage,” Chauhan told Toi.

If there is no improvement, the matter intensifies the district police, which leads to the FIR or legal warnings of TERN.

In a recent case, a man who harassed 113 girls and women from 36 districts with obscene messages was arrested from Kaushambi after Wcso’s intervention.

Chauhan urged the public to report cyberbullying harassment immediately. “Mark 1090 or present a complaint at Cybercrime.gov.in. Your identity will remain confidential and our team will ensure rapid action,” he said.
