The residents of the villages of Ryave and Varamballi in Hosanagara Taluk or Shivamogga have decided to take a march from Varamballi to Hosanagara on Thursday, urging the administration to solve the problems of the mobile network in the villages.

The villagers will take 10 km march in the day and present a memorandum to the officers. In the second phase of the protest, the villagers have planned a march to the Lok Sabha member for the Raghavenendra residence in Shivamogga as of April 28.

Melanur Srinivas, president of the Mobile Network Fight Committee, said the village residents had been demanding a better mobile connectivity during the last eight years. The elected representatives promised to solve the problem many times. “Many people who work in private companies are working from home. They need better connectivity. Officers and elected representatives have not responded to their problems. Similarly, students also face the problem,” he said.

Vinayak Prabhu Varamballi, secretary of the Committee, said the villagers wrote letters to all interested authorities, including prime minister. “We will protest, looking for a better network connectivity and intensify our protest until our demand is met,” he said.
