‘Vruthi’ seeks to allay public concern on waste management plants

The current Vruthi National Conconclave, organized by the Local Self -Government Department (LSG), has also become a platform to dissipate public conerns with respect to waste treatment plants. On Friday, LSG Minister MB Rajesh, celebrated an open dialogue with people involved in protests against the proposed treatment plants in Kallikkad and Azhoor in the district of Thiruvananthapuram, Cheemeni in the Kasaragod District District District District District District District District District District District District District District District.

One of the common concerns raised by most of those opposed to such plants was the possibility of contamination of water sources near plants. To address this specific concern, the participants in the dialogue were the first tasks for the Muttathara wastewater treatment plant administered by the Thiruvananthapuram corporation, which has been operating without raised by the local population. In 2023, the minister also had tasks along a team of all matches to visit the Muttathara plant. He also appealed against the opposition of crucial projects for political reasons and assured that all waste treatment facilities established in the state, including the representation of plants, will adhere to the highest quality standards.

The former Chief Secretary V. Venu moderated the discussion, which the municipal president of Guruvayur, M. Krishnadas, reported his experiences by successfully implementing a waste disposal project had been pending for almost five decades. The experts of the Central Pollution Control Board, the National Green Court, the State Control Board and the Kerala Water Authority addressed the representatives of the representatives. The main secretary of the Department of Government of the TV Anupama and Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the president of the Permanent Health Committee, Gayathri Babu, also participated in the dialogue.
