Police Director (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta gave prizes to cases of better crime detection (ABCD) for the period from October to December 2024.
West Godavari police (WG) won the first prize for resolving a murder case in Akiveedu, where the victim’s body was packed in a box and sent to a woman. Police Superintendent Adnan Nayeem Asmi was appreciated for his efforts to resolve the case, which led to the defendant’s trial, including a woman.
The Police of the district of Sri Satya Sai, directed by SP Matna, won the second prize for arrest to a person, who murdered a child and escaped to Karnataka. The defendant’s judgment resolved a pending case of 26 years.
The third prize went to the Vizianaram district police for arresting five people involved in Digital Fraud. Police recovered ₹ 10 Lakh and jewelry, with a value of ₹ 9.20 Lakh. SP Vakul Jindal Toks to freeze ₹ 22 Lakh on the couch. The Guntur district police consoled the Consolation Prize for resolving the case of murder of a younger girl who played under the limits of the Chebrolu Police Station.
The general director of the CID, Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, selected the cases for the ABCD Awards, and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta presented the prizes to the investigative officers in a program held at the headquarters of the AP Police on Wednesday.
