The fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, who has been fleeing from the Indian authorities in relation to a PNB fraud fraud of RS 13,500 million rupees, has been arrested in Belgium when New Delhi presses for his extradition.
According to the reports, the diamond jeweler that Fugita lived in Antwerp with his wife Priti Choksi, after receiving the residence, the residence card F, in Belgium 2023. The sources of the Indian government indicated on Monday that a team of several agencies will visit the country before the bail audience next week.

MEHUL kidnapping accusations

His lawyer said he was kidnapped and tortured while he was in Dominican custody by illegal entrance, saying that the fugitive businessman was kidnapped in Antigua and took him to Dominica in a boat. He returned to Antigua after spending 51 days in Dominican custody.

Chaksi ‘Honeytrap’ claims
Following the alleged kidnapping, the name of a mysterious woman also emerged. Choksi’s wife, Priti, who is also appointed as accused of the Law Execution Directorate, claimed that they with Barbara Jabarika, a Hungarian citizen, in 2020 and claimed that she was part of a Honeytap plan.

According to the reports, Barbara and Choksi became friends and invited him to an apartment to meet her the day he disappeared. Upon arriving, a group of people “kidnapped” Choksi and made him Dominica, where he was a hero. However, Barbara shattered the thesis accusations and said that she was Choksi’s “girlfriend.” He also said he had his own income and businesses. “I don’t need your cash, support, hotels, false jewelry or nothing,” said the appointment of NDTV.

Chaksi and his nephew, Nirav Modi, have been accused of defrauding the PNB or around RS 13,000 million rupees, one of the greatest scams in the history of Indian banking. The government of India was declared by a fugitive economic criminal (ugly) and a CBI investigation against him is ongoing.
