A doctor of Indian origin was among the six people who died in the plane crash in New York last week. The tragic incident took place on Saturday when Mitsubishi Mu-2B, with the family of doctors and students on board, crashed in the afternoon in Copake.
Among the deceased were Dr. Joy Saini, who was born in India, her husband Dr. Michael Groff, her daughter Karenna Groff, her son Jared, her partner Alexia Couyutas Duarte and Karna’s boyfriend James Santoro.
Who was Dr. Joy Saini?
Dr. Saini was born in Punjab and settled with his parents, Kuljit and Gurdev Singh, in the United States, according to Mid Hudson News.
His family said it was a pelvic surgeon founded by Boston Pelvic Health and Wellness.
He pursued medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, where with Michael Groff, who later became her husband. Michael was neurosurgeon and pilot.
Saini and Groff are survived by their daughter, Anika; Michael’s parents, Stephen and Bena; Saini’s mother, Kuljit; His brothers Rinne Groff, Yram Groff and Prashant Saini; and others.
