With the aim of promoting the sectors of Jharkhand’s industry and energy, Prime Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren, a MLA in the state assembly, embarked on a nine -day trip to Sweden and Spain on Friday (April 18, 2025).
The state president of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party and leader of the Babulal Mara Andi opposition opposed the trip at a time of law and order problems in Jharkhand. Hey, also opposed Mr. Soren to take his wife to the official tour, asking why the State Industries Minister had been out of the delegation.
The Jharkhand delegation will visit Barcelona and Madrid in Spain, and Gothenburg in Sweden between April 19 and 27. The delegation will meet with foreign investors to tell them the policies of the state government, and invite to participate in mines auctions in Jharkhand.
The delegation includes Mrs. Soren, who also presides over the Welfare and Children’s Welfare Committee in the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand, the principal secretary Aka Tiwari, additional main secretary of the main minister Avinash Kumar, State Secretary of Industries Arwa Rajkamal, director of Sushant Gaurav industries, personal advisor of the main minister Ajay Kumar Singh Singh, and others.
INDUSTRIES MINISTER NOT INCLUDED
Mr. Marandi published in X, criticizes Mr. Soren’s trip. “The law and order in the State have collapsed, the murders are occurring in broad daylight, the crisis of power has deepened. He added: “If the purpose of this trip is to bring foreign investment, then the most important question is why the Minister of Industry is not together? The secretary and director of the Industry Department are included in this delegation, but the name of the role.” List. “
Mr. Marandi claimed that it was not the first time that the Minister of Industry, Sanjay Prasad Yadav, a RJD leader, was humiliated. Previously, in an important investment meeting in Kolkata, the Minister of Industry was avoided to attend the meeting, and Soren took his wife in place at the last minute, Marandi said.
“Hemant Ji, if this trip is official, in what capacity is Kalpana Soren attending instead of the Minister of Industry? If this is a personal trip, why is an army of officers at the expense of the government’s treasure?” Mr. Marandi asked. Investment strategy
A senior official of the Department of Industries said that the visit of the CM is part of the comprehensive strategy of the State to attract direct direct investments (FDI) in dynamic sectors such as steel and metals, energy (conventional and renewable), advanced manufacturing.
Jharkhand is one of the richest states in India resources, and contributes significantly to the country’s industrial production, with some names such as Tata Steel, Steel Authority of India Limited (Sail) and National Thermal Power Power Corporation.
The programmed commercial forums and the B2B meetings will inform Spanish companies about the ambitious industrial road map of Jharkhand, the policies of facilitation of investors and opportunities for public-private cooperation. The delegation will also hold meetings in Sweden.
