Indian stock markets: Blue-chips muted on global woes, mid-caps hit record high

Indian blue-chip shares remained steady due to concerns about US interest rates and China’s economy. The Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex indexes both saw minimal gains, while the mid-cap index reached a new record high on positive domestic prospects. The Nifty mid-cap index has outperformed this year, gaining 22% compared to the 7% gain of blue-chip stocks.
