Last weekend, Joe and I returned to the children to San Francisco to visit my sister and her partner. They have lived there for more than five years and we still had to make the trip! It was really special and we had the opportunity to do clean tourism together.

Packing for a long weekend trip like this, to a city with three different climates on a given day, can be a challenge. When I asked my sister what should go on my San Francisco packaging list, she said layers, which means different things for all of us.

Sometimes I like to pack attire for specific occasions. In a case like this, when the schedule is as fluid as the weather, it seems better to pack inside a palette of unified colors. That way, I can mix and combine pieces according to my mood while I am there. My choice colors were neutral such as black, white and navy blue, in addition to some touches of red tomato.

Here is my San Francisco packaging list that helped me make the most of our “fiery” trip.
