The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB) have submitted a proposal on cryptocurrencies to be discussed at the G20 leaders’ summit in New Delhi. The proposal includes a synthesis paper that builds on the FSB’s recommendations on crypto assets. The IMF has previously outlined a nine-point action plan for how countries should treat cryptocurrencies. A common template of measures will be required to implement the rules agreed upon by the G20 countries.
