The matches for the 133rd edition of the Durand Cup (Durand 2024 Cup) were announced on Friday, one day after the groups were revealed. The tournament will begin with the Mohun Bagan Super Giant match against the city center on July 27 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. The group stage will conclude with defender champion Mohun Bagan SG in front of the East Bengal FC in a repetition of the final last season on August 18.
The 24 participating teams are divided into six groups of four each, totaling 43 games in a format of the round league, followed by eliminatory games. The matches will be held in four cities: Kolkata, Kokrajhar, Shillong and Jameshedpur, with the accommodation matches of letter three of one group each.
The teams of India Super League (ISL), the I-League and the Armed Forces of India, Nepal and Bangladesh will participate in the tournament.
The group winners and the two best teams in second place will advance to the elimination stage. In the previous edition, Mohun Bagan SG assured its 17th Durand Cup title by defeating the Archirival Bengala East FC 1-0.
