Sushant Singh Rajput case: ED books late actor’s friend Rhea Chakraborty, she says ‘truth shall prevail’
Rhea Chakraborty has found herself in a harsh spotlight after being named in an FIR lodged in Patna by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh in which he accused her of theft, cheating and abetment to suicide.
Rhea was also accused of giving Sushant an overdose of medicine at her home and “falsely telling him that the actor was suffering from dengue”.
Hours after the Enforcement Directorate registered a case of money laundering against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, she broke her silence in the case saying that “the truth shall prevail”.
In a video statement released through her lawyers on Friday, Rhea said she has faith in the judiciary. “I have immense faith in God and the judiciary. I believe that I will get justice. Even though a lot of horrible things are being said about me in the electronic media, I refrain from commenting on the advice of my lawyers as the matter is sub-judice. Satyamev Jayate, the truth shall prevail,” the actor said in a tearful video.
Rhea has found herself in a harsh spotlight after being named in an FIR lodged in Patna by late actor’s father KK Singh. In the FIR, registered at Patna’s Rajiv Nagar police station on July 25, KK Singh has accused Rhea and five others, which includes her family members, of abetment of suicide, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy.
In the FIR, it was alleged that Rs 15 crore was siphoned off from Sushant’s account in one year “to bank accounts of persons not known or connected to the late actor”. Rhea was also accused of giving Sushant an overdose of medicine at her home and “falsely telling him that the actor was suffering from dengue”.
