Iwot Studios recently announced that he has launched his own game development study, called Iwot Games. The new study is led by Craig Alexander, formerly Vice President of Product Development at the Warner Bros Games. Its first project is an open world role play based on The Time Wheel Series written by Robert Jordan, with an eye towards a multiplatform strategy based on intellectual property.

According to Iwot, the new game will be based on the success of The Time Wheel Amazon Prime Show when delivering more from the world and tradition of the series to your fans community. IWOT is involved with the production of The Prime Show. Alexander plans to start the development establishing a Montreal headquarters with plans to build the leadership team in the coming months.

Alexander said in a statement: “Adapting such a legendary mythology in an open world role play is a weird and ambitious challenge. Vision, scale and a vibrant creative environment are needed, everything Montreal provides. I am delighted to lead the effort and build a world -class team capable of honoring this beloved world.”

This is not the first time that IWOT, or Red Eagle Entertainment, as previously known, revealed its intentions to make games based on the world of Jordan. In 2008, Red Eagle announced its intention to adapt the series to games and movies, although a planned collaboration with Obsidian never seemed to go anywhere.

Rick Selvage, Iwot Studios CEO, said in a statement: “Developing a game worthy of the Wheel of Time brand required the right time, the right leader and the correct location. Craig brings the leadership, vision and experience we need, and Montreal offers the creative talent to give life. We are sure that this team will deliver something truly special for fans.”
