India Hits Back at Pakistan Army Chief Over Kashmir Claim
India has strongly criticized Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir for calling Kashmir Pakistan’s “jugular vein.” In response, the Indian government reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an inseparable part of India. Moreover, it emphasized that Pakistan must vacate all areas it has illegally occupied.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal delivered a firm statement.
“How can anything foreign be in a jugular vein? This is a Union Territory of India. Its only relationship with Pakistan is the vacation of illegally occupied territories by that country,” he said.
The reaction came shortly after a video of General Munir went viral. In the video, Munir urged Pakistani citizens to teach their children about the country’s origins. He stressed that Pakistan was created because of fundamental differences between Hindus and Muslims.
“Our forefathers believed we were different in every aspect—religion, customs, traditions, thoughts, and ambitions,” Munir said. “That is where the two-nation theory began.”
Furthermore, Munir addressed the ongoing unrest in Balochistan. He vowed that Pakistan’s armed forces would eliminate groups such as the BLA, BLF, and BRA.
“Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan or Pakistan,” he declared confidently.
India, however, sees these statements as political distractions. Instead of addressing its internal problems, Pakistan often resorts to rhetoric on Kashmir. According to New Delhi, the only unresolved issue is the return of Pakistan-occupied territories.
Additionally, experts believe that such speeches aim to fuel nationalism within Pakistan. Nevertheless, India remains firm—Jammu and Kashmir is, and will always be, part of India.
