The original surviving members of the Beach Boys have paid tribute to Brian Wilson, their legendary leader and co -founder, who died at the age of 82.
They recognized their “genius”, with Mike Love saying that their “musical gifts were unmatched” and had “changed the course of music forever.” Al Jardine recognized his humor and said that “he will always feel blessed” having had Wilson in his life.
Wilson’s family said they were “disconsolate” and “with a loss of words” to announce their death. His statement did not give a cause.
The Beach Boys were one of the largest bands in the United States, whose success rived with the Beatles in the 1960s.
Born in 1942 and raised in Hawthorne, California, Wilson formed a group with his little brothers Carl and Dennis, Primo Mike Love and his friend to Jardine.
They get used to selling More than 100 million records worldwide, according to the group’s website.
Music Rolling Stone magazine classified them in the list of 12 ONS of the “100 best artists of all time.”
Wilson produced successful singles boxes, including the three number one songs I receive, help me, rhonda and good vibrations.
He was known for using the recording study to create unique sounds, especially in the Pet Sounds album, which contributed to his reputation as a music pioneer.
The singer and composer Bob Dylan said: “I heard the sad news about Brian today and I thought about all the years that I have been listening to and admiring his genius. He rests in peace dear Brian.”
Sir Elton John described him as a “true giant” who had the “greater influence” in its song composition.
Frank Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy Sinatra, who enjoyed a high -profile musical career at the Beach Boys apogee, shared a photo with Wilson on Instagram.
“His appreciated music will live forever as he travels through the universe and beyond,” he wrote. “God bless you, Dulce Brian.”

Mick Fleetwood, or the Fleetwood Mac band, wrote: “Anyone with a musical bone in his body must be grateful for the magical touch of Brian Wilson! And very sad or this great mundane loss!”
Sean Ono Lennon, son of the Beatles leader, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, called Wilson the “American Mozart” and a “unique genius from another world.”
“Anyone who really knows me knows how inconsolado I am with Brian Wilson’s pass,” he wrote in X.
“Not many people influenced me as much as he. I feel very lucky to have been able to meet him and spend time with him. He was always very child and generous.”
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood said his “world is in mourning,” since he pointed out that Sly Stone and Wilson died this week.
The Executive Director of Universal Music Group, Sir Lucian Graininge, called Wilson “one of the most talented singers in the history of recorded music.”
“If there was a human being who made art with inexpressible sadness, it was Brian Wilson,” wrote the musician Questlove in a long tribute on Instagram.

Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of The Monkees band, wrote about Wilson’s death: “His melodies shape a generation, his harmonies changed the game and his soul appeared in each note.”
Wilson lost his wife Melinda in 2024. The couple had married for 24 years and adopted their children Dakota Rose, Daria Rose, Delanie Rose, Dylan and Dash Together.
Wilson also had two daughters, Carnie and Wendy, of his first marriage.
The musician was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic in 1984, according to Forbes, when doctors found evidence that their use of psychedelic drugs had enhanced his brain.
