For the second time in less than two weeks, an United States Navy combat aircraft Harry S. Truman has been lost in the Red Sea.

The plane landed on the Truman flight deck on Tuesday when the aircraft arrest system, which helps the plane stop on the track, failed, “causing the aircraft to be OPPBOARD,” according to the United States Central Command.

The two pilots aboard the plane, a Super Hornet F/A-18 combat plane with a value of at least $ 67 million, expelled and suffered minor injuries. They were rescued by a helicopter and no one was injured.

The accident occurred approximately one week after another Super Hornet F/A-18 and a trailer tractor fell from the Truman when the crew lost control of the plane, said the Navy. That accident occurred when the aircraft carrier was maneuvering to position itself better against the threat of missile and hutis drones, according to the officials of the Department of Defense with knowledge of the incident.

For more than a year, the hutis have been shooting projectiles and launching drones in commercial and military ships in the Red Sea, in what the militia group has described as a sample of solidarity with the residents of Gaza and Hamas.

On Tuesday, the United States and the Houthis in Yemen reached an agreement to stop US air attacks against the group after he agreed to stop US ships in the Red Sea.

“They have capitulated, but most importantly, we will take their,” said President Trump. “They say that ships will no longer explode.”

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, said in a statement that the combat plane on Tuesday was under investigation and that “the Harry Transport Strike Group S. Truman Remae totally capable.”

“We can confirm that this plane was not beaten by the hutis,” he said.

On March 15, Trump ordered the US army to begin an air campaign, called Operation Rough Rider, against the Hutis, after some strikes under the Biden administration. The campaign has cost well at $ 1 billion.

The US forces have achieved more than 800 objectives in the Yemen Duration campaign, according to the United States Army.

In addition to the two lost airplanes, there have been several other important accidents that involve Truman since it was deployed in the Middle East in September.

In February, the carrier collided with a merchant ship near Port, he said, Egypt, damaging both ships. And in December, the USS Gettysburg, a guided cruise on the Guidiating missile, knocked down a Super Hornet F/A-18 that flew from the aircraft carrier. The two pilots aboard the plane recovered safely.
