Actor Atish Bhattacharya arrested for allegedly beating and physically abusing an aspiring model

Atish Bhattacharya, a struggling actor has been arrested by Kolkata police for allegedly beating and physically harassing an aspirant model.

Kolkata police has arrested Atish Bhattacharya, a junior actor, in the case of an alleged physical harassment of an aspiring model. According to sources, the aspirant model lodged a complaint at Haridebpur police station against Atish for allegedly keeping her in his custody against her will and physical as well as sexual abuse.

In her written complaint, the young model stated that on January 29, Atish forcefully took her to his house and kept her captive. Not only that, she was reportedly beaten up and physically abused by him. Police registered case under IPC s 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 and 324 (hurt), 354 and 354B (assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) against the accused.

After lodging the written statement, the complainant was taken to MR Bangur hospital for medical examination and according to sources, injury marks have reportedly been found on her body as well. Based on the complaint and the physical evidence, police arrested Atish today (February 1) morning. He will be produced to Alipore court before the judge tomorrow (February 2). Meanwhile, police have also found discrepancy while interrogating Atish including the residential address stated by him. According to the police sources, Atish claimed he lives at the residence of a renowned singer although police found it to be not true. Police are still investigating the matter.

Speaking about Atish, he is a struggling actor who mostly worked as a junior artist. He has appeared in a few episodes of a crime-based television drama including Bengali version of CID. Although Atish has been a part of the entertainment industry for quite some time, he is yet to taste success in his career.
